File Manager

The File Manager in Documently.io allows you to upload, organize, and utilize various files within your documentation articles.

Supported File Formats

You can upload nearly any type of file, including:

  • Images: JPG, JPEG, GIF, PNG
  • Documents: PDF, DOC, DOCX
  • Spreadsheets: XLS, XLSX

Each project has its own independent file collection, which you can organize into custom-named folders.

Using Files in Articles

Files uploaded to the File Manager can be used in two ways:

  • Display an image directly in the article (using the appropriate Markdown tag)
  • Link to a file for download

While editing an article, when inserting an image, you can select a file directly from the File Manager or upload it from this level.

Branch Workflow

Changes to the media collection occur within branches, just like editing articles. Files and changes to their structure are published only after the changes in the branch are published.

Cataloging and Grouping

For better organization, you can group files into folders—name them according to your needs, such as "Screenshots," "PDF Documents," etc.
